Biography:
Ryo was bullied quite a bit her whole life, from her childhood all the way through her junior highschool years. Even some of her teachers seemed to have it out for her, at the time. It came to a point where Ryo would stay home from school almost daily, and only show up on days that she had a sudden boost of confidence and felt ready to face the world, which was rather uncommon, for her.
The friends she did have were usually boys, and she rarely conversed with girls at all, because few girls shared her intense interests in videogames, art, and music. She constantly put up a tough front to put on a show of masculinity for other boys in school, and in her teenaged years, Ryo loved to identify herself as "one of the guys".
She grew up privileged at home, although this was balanced out, and she was never really "spoiled". Whenever she did well in school, she was rewarded with money from her single mother, and even got wonderful birthday gifts every year. Ryo was an only child and always got her mother's full attention, when she wasn't working. Her mother loves her more than anything and was willing to do whatever it took to protect Ryo from the bad in the world. Ryo took this for granted, however, as there were also the days where the average teenage angst would overcome her and leave her feeling that everyone hated her.
Over the years that Ryo grew to stay home more and more and rarely have any outside, social activity, she became addicted to online games. She would feign illness and stay in bed all morning until her mother left for work, in which time she would then jump up and glue herself to the computer screen. Online, she could be whoever she wanted, and do whatever she wanted. Ryo even met many nice folk from all across the globe, who were much kinder to her than any strangers in the outside world had ever been. It didn't take long before she dropped out of school completely and never left the side of her computer, and would only take off her virtual reality helmet on the rare occassion that she ate anything her mother made for her.
Her mother would constantly put her down. She would lament over how she had "such high hopes" for her daughter, and that Ryo was going nowhere in life. This, over a long period of time, drove Ryo to depression, which could only be filled with her on-screen computer time.
And that's when Ryo stumbled upon "Digimon Online"...
The RPerName Breanna, or Bree Face claim I drew it myself, actually.
