...with everything that would make it a good site, what kind of roleplay would you join? What fandom?

Me? I would probably instantly say Suikoden, magical girl sites, Breath of Fire sites, some Filipino-culture rp...but I'm quite contented with the rps I'm in. Usually, I find more fun if places that I wouldn't really put in my top ten list to join if they were given to me. I doubt I would have joined Systematic Breakdown if sites out there of fandom I prefer existed but here I am anyway. Stepping out in your zone and finding new places is very fun and interesting. It keeps you going forward. I mean, Pokemon sites...I'm so done with them. Freeform Pokemon sites anyway. These days, you have different plots, settings, teams but the formula is the same. People aren't coming up with new systems of their own to improve old ones. They imitate rather than innovate.

I'm not actually sure, but supernatural/fantasy sites in general, I guess? My characters always come to me from fantastical worlds with magic and weapons and stuff, so it's just what I'm most comfortable with, although I'm used to adapting my characters for more modern worlds too. I like school settings too but I haven't tried RPing at a site like that yet. Maybe one day though?

I also like sites where character death is a possibility or maybe even an inevitability. Like, boards based on The World Ends with You, Bokurano, Battle Royale, The Hunger Games, and series like that (though I don't think RPs of the first two exist). It sounds kind of morbid, but it's interesting for me to write and see what kind of actions they would take in these kind of crazy, dangerous situations. There's something about the impact a death post has too; what kind of thoughts a character might have in those last moments, who they think of, any regrets or anything.

If it's not already obvious, I like putting my characters through incredible tons of shit. At the same time though, I like giving them happy endings too unless it's in RP.

Anyway, for fandoms, I don't really know. There are some settings I think would be really fun to RP in: Darker than Black, Angel Beats, Madoka maybe? I like having powers and some level of customization for it, I guess. Sword Art Online is cool too, but the boards I see based on that series seem a bit too technical for me. Might check them out at some point though. Also, I guess Pokemon's an easy fandom for me, but like Tanz said, stepping out of your comfort zone and discovering other places is really fun. I feel like I've just stuck with Pokemon all these years because that's what I know, but now I'd rather try exploring other places.

most of the time i don't tend to hang around sites for too long, and i rarely affiliate-jump. i don't see myself turning down someone who asks me to join a site with them, and neither do i see myself shaking my head at the prospect of an interesting storyline to write out. i could feasibly swallow lots of reading and information about a genre/fandom if it's needed (tanz and nacht would probably know what i mean), so for me it isn't so much the site, but rather the people there.

survival, horror, and fantasy are three things i like in rps. or something that involves fighting. if there's any of that, i'm usually game. i like violent themes. there isn't an actual fandom i'll join, but i tend to prefer canon over original. i don't have any confidence in any of my "original characters" so i tend to stick to canon sites. from ff to digimon and pokemon.

funny enough, i don't usually care about a community as long as they aren't bashing every other one or other members.
