Subject: Picking your partner Digimon 312 views

Why? Surely there must have been a reason why you picked that Digimon. My OCD I'm very happy with all the Digimon my characters have gotten. It was hardly done for IC reasons lol.

For Kouji, I didn't have a choice. It was what made me not want to play him because I didn't like Strabimon at all. He was a generic figure of cool Digimon to me and I like sticking to less popular kinds. But as it turned out, your Digimon doesn't make them who they are! Strabimon's been a lovable support character for Kouji. I'm not quite sure what would happen once he evolves into a kangaroo.

For Sir Cuddles, it might have come off a surprise for those in the old site? He used to have a Bearmon with the pottiest mouth...and for a while when I started playing him here, I regretted picking Palmon X over him. I had no idea what kind of character Palmon X should be. I guess I got stuck at the idea of Sir Cuddles and Bearmon but didn't really want to do the same formula. I picked Palmon X because of DAT CAPE. And I thought it reflected Sir Cuddles ~*bishies*~ look IRL. I'm glad I decided to risk it and stuck to Palmon X.

Third is Harry aka SUPERDUDDE! Like Sir Cuddles, I played him in the old SB but I picked the same Digimon, Coronamon. They're even the same character lol. I think Coronamon fit Harry, really. I was anxious what would happen if I didn't get a Coronamon. I couldn't imagine any other Digimon......though that Calumon still haunts me to this day. WOULD HAVE I GOTTEN MIRACLES?

Fourth is Tomoki. I basically picked Gomamon X because it's damn cute and because I wanted aquatic and because it fits Chakkumon (?), his spirit evolution in the anime. Also because it's very cute.

Lastly is Joshua AKA Hua. I didn't really think about it much lol. I considered it but I knew I was going Biyomon. Joshua's been an old OC of mine, usually in Pokemon RPs. In an old site called Jinari Region where I first played him, he started out with a Skarmory so I definitely wanted a bird. I picked Biyomon over Hawkmon because of Biyomon's more feminine appearance. Hawkmon is more fierce and cunning. While Joshua is more than intelligent, his gentle nature is more prominent over his mind.

So what Digimon did you pick and why? Are you contented about them?

lol tanzu we're the opposite here =w= I picked my character's Digimon for ic reasons and plan to do the same for any future characters I make.

Ensenga really loves cute fuzzy animals especially rodents or other tiny rodent-like creatures, so out of the batch that he was offered, Agumon, Fanbeemon, and Leormon were easy to dismiss; the first two because they're not fuzzy and the third because it's a cat, which he's not fond of because they hunt mice. From there, it was a rough choice between Bearmon and White Lopmon. Bearmon was tempting because it looks like an RPG hero with all those belts (which Ensenga would've found awesome) and has the whole "strong and cool" image he wants to convey, but I think ultimately he would've gone with White Lopmon. It's cute, the white color reminds him of his pet mice, and there's something to be said about this tiny little thing kicking ass or turning into something awesome and then kicking ass.

I'm pretty content with my choice, I think! Not just for the meaning, but also for the kind of character I'd write up. If I went Bearmon, him and ensenga would've prolly been like best bros or something and be dorks together. For White Lopmon, it's not to say he's not a dork or not on friendly terms with Ensenga (they're closer and more similar than it seems, I guess?), but his pompous attitude plus Ensenga being... Ensenga makes for an amusing comedy duo that's really fun to write (and hopefully to read).

Personally? I don't know what I would've picked. White Lopmon's super cute, but I do like Leormon 'cause I like cats, and Fanbeemon 'cause it's totally badass for digivolving into like laser cannon warrior bees. I think I just like insects in mons series though; there's a ton of Bug types that I like in Pokemon too lol.

My reasoning for picking Shamanmon for Scovil was more for IC reasons as well. Scovil's going to be a bit of a bad guy, so he needs a partner to reflect that aspect of himself. Kamemon and Monimon were too cute, and PawnChessmon projects more of a heroic image in my mind. So it was more of a choice between a floating gear (Hargurumon) or a small ogre, and so Shamanmon won out in the end. Although I still think it would have been hilarious to have chosen Monimon, I'm happy with the choice I made.

Now, if I do decide to create Captain Dreamer (Yuu from the Digimon Next manga), I'll be stuck with Gaomon, since that's his canon partner. I'll be ok with that, since a boxing dog rather suits the character I have in mind for him to become.

makino ruki; ruki is a canon from digimon tamers, aka season three, thus she is paired with renamon so i didn't have much of a choice. not that i needed one. renamon is far my favorite digimon and i've always loved the character of ruki. so it was a win win situation for me.

autumn valeria; is an oc. she was on the original sysbreak with a renamon. over here, she didn't get that choice(which i am happy with as i already have a renamon). i chose lunamon for autumn as they have similar personalities: lunamon is a loner/coward type but can get attached easily, just like autumn. although they are cowards towards different things.

a list of the characters i used to play here: vulcan, laelaps, aesop, ragnarök, scheherazade, grimm, hans

vulcan's a frontier canon (kanbara takuya). his default digimon is flamon.

laelaps was a tough choice. commandramon, kotemon and ryuudamon were all choices that could have fit his character, but i ultimately chose ryuudamon. it's more defense-oriented compared to the rest; while gaomon could technically fill the role of a defensive digimon, it didn't fit laelaps's character and story. as for the gazimon x ...

... it went to aesop. i like his digimon more than i do the character, and i haven't written him in ages.

as for ragnarök, pawnchessmon (black) and hagurumon appeared in his choices (previously available in aesop's choices too). while i would have liked to pick kudamon, it didn't fit solomon. i ended up choosing tinkermon by process of elimination.

scheherazade's choices were popular choices. or rather, choices i think people in general would like getting and have trouble choosing simply because they're all amazing. guilmon x is a solid digimon imo, and wouldn't have trouble fighting match after match. dorumon was almost chosen but i went for something i could see and believe fighting alongside hera.

shoutmon for grimm! would have picked picodevimon if i hadn't prior obligations.

i again went for a subspecies in hans's case. (my first look at the digimon choices already confirmed my suspicion on what crest he was getting.) perhaps because of that and some other reasons, i chose an agumon (black).

definitely have more characters coming and definitely will fill this up as they're made.

daimon masaru (ign: masaru) default is agumon, but it suits him.

kimura kouichi (ign: löwe) i had a choice for him ... and actually i didn't like any of his choices. it didn't fit. i did wonder about monmon, having someone cheer him up all the time. then i realized, he'd probably loathe him more than he did bakumon. so i went with him. (that and because he can digivolve into löwemon naturally.)

matsuda takato (ign: gogglehead) canon digimon, but like masaru, it suits him.

joel endo (ign: steven) obligatory. he has swords.

niklas schneider (ign: valí) he got a monimon. it was a quirky little creature, always wanting to please their completely uninterested an occupied tamer. i got a nice batch for him, but something mechanical and somewhat "useless" is a good match for him. he wasn't in the game to play. i guess you could claim that his digimon's persistence to get him to enjoy the game is the opposite of how much he wants to get out (with his wife).

i dropped two of them, but i might pick up striker again (from sysbreak v1.)
