He didn't always sit around doing nothing but wasn't that what one did when playing Digimon Online? Walking felt like he was doing exercise but that was all in his head and right now, the less information went through there, the better. Ronin did not feel like processing too much at the moment. School was more than enough.
Quizzes, projects, exams. All in the work before the holidays.
School wasn't the only one beginning to end. The game for Ronin may just as well.
He glanced at his Digimon, Strabimon, who knew nothing of rest and meditation. Strabimon constantly observed the small or big activities around them even when he was already overly-familiarized. He had been very helpful. Ronin couldn't feel anymore grateful for Strabimon. He wouldn't have him replaced for anything else. If Ronin ever decided to come back and play again, would Strabimon be the same?
Ronin closed his eyes. He was already thinking of the possibilities. Was it cruel for him not to consider it earlier? What was going to happen to Strabimon and how would he react when Ronin tells him he was about to resign from the staff and give up Digimon Online?
He never thought Strabimon was supposed to impact him somehow. He was still just a program, wasn't he?
Ronin only played the game to earn enough money to pay his parents back and that money have accumulated for the past months with his careful allowance planning. All good things have to come to an end at some point. Yes, Strabimon...the game was a good thing. He should spend the last days properly. It was the least he could do.
Without saying a word, Ronin stood up and began walking, knowing Strabimon would follow him behind without asking. Maybe he should say something but that wasn't Ronin's image. Strabimon might realize something was up. Ronin wanted this to be as ordinary as any day so nothing else would be missed. |
