When Poppins had first come to the Lake of Ice in the North Sector, she hadn't planned on staying very long since Fanbeemon did not care for the cold, it made her very tired and sort of weak. Of course, things did not work that way. Poppins had come to the Lake of Ice for a group of sick kids. Outside of DO, the five or so kids Aina saw nearly everyday, were barely allowed outside, much less to ice skate. And now, for the first time, they had this chance to be kids, to live and enjoy themselves in a world where there bodies weren't breaking down or freezing up. Poppins quickly saw she had no choice but to stay, especially since the kids, her kids, weren't, for lack of a better word, good. They were always falling over themselves or their digimon, crushing fingers or bruising elbows, knees and butts. They took some bad spills, but always got back up and tried again. Poppins just didn't have the heart to tell them it was time to pack up and leave, listless digimon partner or not.
Fanbeemon understood that, and though she wasn't happy about how long they had stayed, she had never once complained. Instead, she had flown around the rink, always moving, trying to keep warm. That was how she saw a player and his(so I assume) SnowGoburimon ambush another player, who she had noticed had been watching the other skaters, much like herself.
None that strong to begin with, not yet, Fanbeemon had left the impending fight and had gotten Poppins attention away from the kids and to the edge of the rink. Now, both of them were making there way toward Lowe, Bokumon and their attackers.
Despite her apparent age, and the fact she had no ice skates, Poppins moved along the ice easily, sliding her feet across as if they WERE skates. She was quite the sight, a tiny old woman sliding across the frozen lake, her digimon flying just ahead of her, buzzing like a madwoman, and most people didn't know what to make of what they saw. Her kids though, they knew exactly what to do, they cheered until Poppins stepped onto the snowy bank, and then they fell silent.
Not once hesitating, Poppins bent down and grabbed a bunch of snow which she quickly formed into a snowball and threw at the player with the SnowGoburimon. "Hey, kid, why don't you try picking on someone your own size?"
Not lifting his foot from Lowe's back, the 'kid', turned to the old lady who had just pelted him with snow and laughed. "What are you blind you old hag? Even some of the kids here are taller than you, and I ain't no snot nosed brat."
"Better tell that to your nose then, because it looks like its running to me." Poppins retorted back, getting a cheer from her kids. "But, you are right about one thing, you're not my size, you're smaller. Sure, this appearance of yours is taller than me, but on the inside, you're less than any 'snot nosed brat' you're scum who can only feel tall by stepping on the backs of others, literally, in this case."
"Shut up you stupid hag! I'll make him pay if you don't, and then you'll be sorry."
On cue, SnowGoburimon leaped toward Bakumon, swinging his club wildly.
Poppins watched, seeming to be uninterested as she formed another snowball and threw it at the player again, once again hitting him in the head so as to distract him.
"A digimon comfortable in the cold and snow, who is at home in this Ice Sector. That proves it, you're just a coward who needs every advantage he can take just so he can fit in. Pathetic. Fanbeemon, you know what to do."
Actually, Fanbeemon had no clue what to do, but she didn't argue. She funneled all her strength and flew at the SnowGoburimon, biting, stinging clawing and anything else she could think of.
"Let me guess, two against one isn't fair? I'd agree, except, in this case, didn't you say I was tiny? That I was useless as the 'snot nosed brats?' With that being the case, certainly your SNOWgoburimon can handle FanBEEmon, an insect who has been out in this cold all day. And, in turn, you can handle a little old lady and another 'snot nosed brat.' You said it yourself kid, us two, we don't make a midge of difference, so prove it, if you can."
