There was only one word that came to Sir Cuddles' mind when the Ikkakumon sprung out at them from the water: "lol."

True enough, he still grinned from ear to ear and he cackled while Lupo berated Palmon X. Lupo was right - it had been stupid and reckless but he didn't share both hers and Renamon's sentiments; quite the opposite. The shrine was nothing more than just pixels and data like everything else in the game. He wondered if Lupo actually cared (maybe she was religious?) or simply wanted to spite Palmon X. Everyone had what they call an opinion that Sir Cuddles wouldn't argue but nor respect. If it weren't for the potential trap in destroying the structure, Sir Cuddles would have done the same thing had he known it was possible.

"Oh, Palmon." Sir Cuddles wiped a tear from his eye. "Maybe if you say sorry, the shrine guardian would go away."

"I'm not apologizing to some wet mutt," Palmon X said, unperturbed by the appearance of a stronger Digimon. But he was standing not too far from Sir Cuddles where he was in a safe distance away from Ikkakumon. "I can imagine how messy this fight is going to be. We should leave while those other two keep it busy."

Sir Cuddles pouted. "But I wanna watch."

"You're on your own then!" Palmon X shouted. Very quickly, he was running off, feet and ankles digging on mud and then he was gone.

For once, Sir Cuddles was quite astonished. He might have expected something like this out of his partner Digimon but he didn't think it could actually happen. In the end, Palmon X was supposed to be an artificial intelligence. Maybe the logical programming in him considered it as a tactical retreat but the eloquent design beyond Sir Cuddles executed it much more dramatically for the effect?

He turned to Lupo and Renamon, momentarily emotionless. A second later, he flashed his teeth-white grin.

They were on their own.

The Ikkakumon hadn't made a move to enter land but it didn't seem like it was going to have trouble hitting them from afar. In a sudden twist, its horn shot out of its forehead, the force jerking Ikkakumon's head backward, blasting in the air like an out-of-control rocket. The horn spiraled several times it was difficult to predict where it was going to hit or whether it had an aim at all, but as it descended it was clear that the horn was going straight for Renamon.

Some wet mutt? Ruki narrowed her eyes once more. "One hit from that 'wet mutt' and you'd be blasted into data bits." Palmon X was really getting on her nerves but there wasn't much she could do when there was a bigger, stronger digimon right in front of her. She checked her items, made sure she had everything needed to take down a bigger digimon, commanding Renamon to go forth in which the fox did so without hesitation.

Sir Cuddles wasn't doing anything, it seemed, as she turned to face him, Palmon X was gone and he flashed a grin. "Fine. Stand back." Ruki hissed, turning back to face the sea monster. She was a Silver Tamer, one of the strongest Tamers so far, an adult level digimon shouldn't prove too much of an issue right?

Ikkakumon launched a missle and Renamon watched it carefully; should it go near Ruki she'd intervene but it appeared to be heading her way. Crossing her arms, she dug paws into the ground, a moment later the missle struck her. Despite the hold in the ground from her feet, she was sent sprawling. Golden fur tinged ebony from the missle, and an angered look appeared on the fox's face, fangs peeking into view as she emitted a low growl.

"Digivolve!" Ruki called out, using the time to have Renamon digivolve into a stronger form. Green data surrounded Renamon as her own data broke down and rearranged itself. When the green glow disappeared, the data had shaped itself into that of a Kyuubimon. Tails flickered in annoyance as she leaped forward. Her body began to glow blue and white. Launching herself towards the other adult, her body transformed. "Dragon Wheel!" Hopefully she'd hit the Ikkakumon, making sure to land on, well, land ready to deliver another attack.
