No one paid Bios Swamp a visit too much. Having to arduously trek through mud as foul as grime to arrive at this worse, version of the previous area, who could blame them? Sir Cuddles didn't go unscratched from his trip here...or should he say un-clean? He had splotches of mud with weed sticking out from them all over his clothes. His pale face was smeared with brown like he'd just poke his head out of a burning stove. His white hair was in an even worse state; it weighed twice heavier with mud gluing it together solid.

Yet it wasn't his hair, face or clothes that troubled Sir Cuddles when they arrived at the shrine. It was his back and shoulders. He attempted to massage the pain and Palmon X glared at his direction.

"You're weak!" Palmon X criticized. "I don't have a single fat in me. I'm not heavy!"

Sir Cuddles was fine with the mess he had to go through but Palmon X hadn't been. He had to carry his Digimon at his shoulders.

"I didn't say that," he said, rolling his shoulder. "But you wouldn't sit still. You kicked a lot."

Palmon X crossed his arms and turned away indignantly. "I didn't want to come here!"

Sir Cuddles approached the shrine and inspected it. He had seen some sort of shrine back in the Kicking Forest too but it was lying in a small island at the center of the lake. He was wondering if there was a connection so he went through the trouble to get here.

Sir Cuddles felt for the walls, trying to check if there was a secret switch somewhere.

"What are you doing?" Palmon X demanded, trying not to sound curious.

"Humping the wall," Sir Cuddles replied easily, bending down to check the foundation. "Felt like being a pervert."

nine in the morning and she was online. real life was nothing compared to the world of digimon online: within the game she was respected, had a place as staff and helped keep things running smoothly. a dream of hers was to become organizer along with digimon queen. real world things, paled compared to her digital dreams. real world consisted of her mother trying to get her to join fashion, criticizm on the way she dressed among many other things.

logging on happened after breakfast to get away from her mother. right now she was in central sector, within the admin center building in which magami staff were located. while she primarily worked outside the building, as a game moderator she had to be out in the game to do her job, but she did need to make sure things were up to date, and to make sure any bugs and glitches she had encountered were recorded.

busy with the notes in hand, she finished up her work, giving any and all notes she'd had come across, including those in regards to the otamamon kidnapping. upon completion, she left the admin center and began heading, with renamon in tow. her trek lead her into bios swamp, all the way in the south sector. the swamp in which mud clung to her bodice and hair like sticky weed, and renamon's glorious fur was soon matted with the muck. bits dripped from her ears while she had a rather irritated expression.

"i know renamon." ruki growled, knowing how renamon was feeling and she didn't need the vulpine to speak. a tomboy at heart and soul, this normally wouldn't bother her. except the mud had seeped into her shoes and each step was highly uncomfortable.

as they got nearer to a shrine, and where sir cuddles and palmon x were, ruki heard the voices, got closer and saw who it was. so she wasn't the only one in these swamps. "plenty of perverts in the game. another one makes no difference." the words came easily from her tongue as she stared at sir cuddles. she wasn't sure if the words would provoke him, make him laugh or something else. hard to tell with him. crossing her arms, she spoke again. "what brings you here?"

words were spoken, unable to take them back. the game moderator simply remained silent, watching, waiting.

notes: i'm thinking sir cuddles would bring out ruki's snarly/mean side xD and i'm snagging this because i missed out on the last thread with sir cuddles D: also, the first few paragraphs were for that other thread : P didn't wanna delete it.

Sir Cuddles turned around from the wall. His reaction was perfectly shielded by the bangs of his hair. The only window to his soul was the shape of his lips, which had curved from wonder to a smile.

"Lupo-chan!" Sir Cuddles chimed, pulling his arms close to his chest excitedly like a little girl. He skipped toward her, smartly putting a foot distance between them. "What cha doing here, Lupo-chan?" His voice was playful and childish, tone going in a sing-song. "Funny to meet you here in this lonely place. Oh, hi Renamon!"

"Ugh, you two - three - need to get a ba-ath!" Palmon X said, looking at the group in disgust. He turned at Lupo with disapproval. "And you, a girl coming here of all places! Look at yourself! You're a mess."

it got, disconcerning when looking at sir cuddles at times; long, gorgeous hair hiding his eyes, leaving only his lips to show. ruki actually had to think if she had ever seen his eyes. she didn't think she had...

well, it appeared sir cuddles hadn't taken offense to her words. that staffer and player, ruki reflected, always one to keep others upon their toes. "haven't been here yet, figured i better get it over with." ruki touched her copper red hair with a couple of fingers, drawing them back to find them covered in muck. "what about you?" ruki asked, being polite as she could be while trying to get the mud to stop clinging to her skin.

renamon took over from there. "hello sir cuddles, palmon x." she stared at palmon x, noting the other digimon had zero trace of mud and weeds stuck upon his plant-like bodice. "that's what happens when you trek through a swamp. why are you so clean?" ruki shot back, renamon hiding a smirk. sir cuddles, ruki and renamon had braved the swamp and gotten muddy and dirty, but palmon x was still clean. she certainly knew where this was going, on ruki's side anyway.

"you're a plant based digimon. i thought you'd love it here." ruki finished after a few seconds to get her breath back. it wasn't too bad around here, could be worse.

Sir Cuddles hummed enigmatically at Lupo's question. He wasn't trying to be secretive. He was here to find out if there were any connections between the shrines he saw in the Kicking Forest and the one here in Bios Swamp. He didn't want to bring it up right now because it looks like a fight was about to happen. It didn't have to be a brawl. That was lame. Sir Cuddles wanted tempers to go high and Palmon X, though spared from the mud, was not happy with her environment - and company.

"I didn't go here by choice." Palmon X shot a glare at Sir Cuddles' direction, who remained smiling pleasantly. He even gave a cheerful wave but Palmon X turned her attention back at the other two. "I was carried here. It was the only compromise I could agree with. A Digimon of my class deserves a royal carriage."

Palmon X sniffed, crossing his arms. He snorted at Lupo's comment. "Of course that's what you'd think, coming from a girl who knows no better than have muck and sweat dripping all over her face. Didn't your mother teach you better than to behave like this? I am almost disappointed."

ruki smirked: how she wanted to say that the digimon never had a choice, they had to listen to their tamers. without them, they were simply data, meaningless data. she knew those words could backfire and hurt her own digital partner. so she merely kept quiet. "sounds more like you were lazy." ruki retorted. "a digimon like you doesn't have class. especially not one fitting for a 'royal carriage' as you put it." there, let him seethe over her words, for she was certainly seething over what he was saying.

icy eyes narrowed, even renamon's eyes were cold. mention of her mother was not something she wanted in game, and it only served to fuel the anger that was coiling through her system. "my mother cares for nothing but fashion and looking pretty. those are not important. besides, how would you know? you're nothing but data, programmed with traits. you don't even have a mother." she sneered as she spoke. digimon had no true parents. just data within a game. and by some it may come across as a low blow but frankly, ruki wasn't going to take something like this with a cheery smile.

renamon still had her eyes narrowed; even as the words came from her tamers mouth. not a flicker of emotion crossed her features. ruki had thought wrong. renamon wasn't hurt by the words. "only weak digimon would rather be carried than to cross the barrier themselves, regardless of the consequences." her icy gaze remained upon the palmon x, knowing if it came down to a true battle, renamon would be walking away the victor.

Sir Cuddles raised his wrist to cover his scheming smile. Mother? Lupo sounded very displeased at the mention of hers. It was a subject she did not look being touched upon, a subject Sir Cuddles would therefore want to bring around Lupo. But not right now - he did not want his front row seat privileges be taken away from him. Renamon herself wasn't very impressed.

Palmon X didn't take their comments in stride but he wasn't going to give in and lose his composure. His body stood taller and the purple leaves on his back spread wider.

"Digimon have no parents because we don't need any parental guidance, silly girl," he sneered. "And I'll let you know that I participated in the Halloween Event and fought a LadyDevimon. I carried the entire team without even breaking a sweat."

Sir Cuddles choked, trying to release his guffaw to quiet, subtle chuckles. Technically, he was right on that one.

"Sir Cuddles, show these peasants the proof of my glory!"

"'Kaaaay." Sir Cuddles pulled out his inventory and showed to Lupo and Renamon the trophy or was that a ribbon? I forgot.

"Weak? Lazy?" Palmon X flipped the colorful flora on his head. "I'm a goddess, dear. I cannot be bothered to deal with the inconveniences lower beings have to cope up with."

Sir Cuddles threw his arms in the air. "All hail Pamon X! Yeeey!"

ruki hadn't of known that by speaking about her mother, she had just given sir cuddles ammo to use against her.

"ah right. you're data. and data would be worthless without us humans." ruki rolled her eyes, allowing palmon x to see her displeasure. she waited until the ribbon was shown, proof of facing the boss and winning, and now ruki sneered back. this was the best palmon x could come up with? searching through her items, she pulled out her boss event ribbon. "i have one too. you're not the only won to have battled and won."

now she snickered. palmon x was no goddess. he sounded male, and she was pretty sure he identified himself as male, despite digimon having no true gender. "are you identifying yourself as female? you certainly don't sound it. the proper term would be god. for a 'higher' power being, you sure aren't smart. nor powerful. i bet renamon could beat you into dust."

the challenge had slipped without her meaning it to. she didn't exactly want to battle, for it seemed battles followed her everywhere. but if palmon x said to fight, she couldn't back down without looking weak.

notes: ahaha, sorry about that xD didn't realize the challenge would pass her lips. feel free to decline, or accept if you wanted :3 and all techs/evos can be used to make things interesting : P to be fair, renamon will only use her armor evo and not her kyubimon form.

"In your dreams, little girl!" Palmon X snarled dangerously, giving Lupo a look that could kill. Despite his threats however, he made no move to advance on Renamon on the challenge. Palmon X flipped his petals once more and pointedly turned away with his arrogant composure regained. "I won't have you or your Digimon put a muck on my flawless skin."

Sir Cuddles decided to intervene now. Oh, he would love it if Palmon X would fight for the laughs of it but not right now. Sir Cuddles didn't come here to get side-tracked.

"Okay, children, let's settle down~" Sir Cuddles placated, waving his draping sleeves up and down in the air. "We're all tired and grumpy. Let's be friends."

Palmon X rolled his eyes. "Be done with it whatever you're here for! My patience is wearing thin." Palmon X crossed his arms and turned his back to Lupo and Renamon. "You have five minutes! No, four!"

"Yes, siiiir," Sir Cuddles said nonchalantly, bowing dramatically, swinging his arm from up to his waist. When he straightened up, Sir Cuddles skipped toward the young woman and made to reach her hands so he could swing them their hands like little girls. "So, Lupo-chan, is there something I can do for yew? Did you come here to play with me?"

NOTES: I don't fear your money!!! And pretty short but trying to move the thread to a plot that doesn't really exist. Palmon's too full of himself to actually fight.

if looks could kill, palmon x would be dead. and so would she with the way his dagger eyes were glaring at her, causing her to merely smirk in his direction. he was nothing more than data. created for the game. she was real, a living and breathing human. ruki snickered. "flawless. keep dreaming." this digimon was really full of it, enough to make her feel slightly sick. palmon x and her mother would get along splendidly, and she turned away from him to face renamon. no fight would happen, and part of her was annoyed. be good to wipe that arrogance from palmon x's face.

who was she to judge when she was arrogant in her own way?

she ignored both sir cuddles and palmon x as they spoke: she didn't want to be the plants friend, and neither did renamon, for she did what ruki did. and nothing was gained by replying to the critter anyway, even if annoyance was bottled up inside, waiting and ready to explode.

that wasn't what happened. oh no. what happened was sir cuddles came over, touching her hands, holding them in her own, feelings both hands and arms start swinging and she resisted the urge to yank her hands away and smack him. "i came here on a whim." ruki spoke, deciding against saying that playing was for children. wasn't she playing right now? that could have turned around and bitten her. "there is one thing you can do. tell me this, what are you here for?" she asked, now trying to pull her hands back to her sides as she had enough of the swinging.

ruki and renamon would stay. maybe they could help sir cuddles do whatever it was he was doing. sounded better than walking through the swamp again with empty hands. so to speak.

Sir Cuddles' smile - if at all possible - got even wider. He allowed her hands to slip through his, knowing the intended discomfort was successfully inflicted. He did not push around too much. That would end the fun in it.

"Hmmmmm," he hummed, noisily rubbing his chin. Lupo's commanding tone did nothing to annoy Sir Cuddles. No doubt, he must be too used from it with his partner Digimon. Sir Cuddles had the patience of a saint. It's too bad it still didn't make him one. "I suppose I could tell you. A secret between mods!"

Sir Cuddles stepped even closer, testing the boundaries he could invade inch by inch, and slightly bent his knees to level his mouth with Lupo's ears. In a loud, hushed voice, he hissed: "I think there's a super seeeeecret in this shrine!"

that smile sir cuddles wore was often one you had to watch for. you never knew why he was smiling when those lips curled upwards, ruki always tried to make sure she was always on guard when that expression crossed his features. the wider the smile, the more she wondered. which was no surprise really. this was sir cuddles.

resisting the urge to roll her eyes, lupo listened, gritted her teeth and allowed her annoyance to eat away on the inside. renamon glared at sir cuddles, but was unable to do anything as ruki hadn't given the order to do, well, anything.

she hard to close her eyes and allow the words to repeat in her head. the shrine was a shrine, nothing special about it. but then, why was it in the middle of a swamp? wasn't that an odd place for a shrine? so his suggestion wasn't wholly crazy. a smidgen, but there was sense in it also.

"makes sense. why else have a shrine in the swamp?" now she did roll her eyes but this was more to expel any and all frustration she held before stepping back, and away, from him. turning towards the shrine she padded close to it, a hand running slightly above the structure. no doubt he had tried searching the shrine, so asking seemed dumb. plus she didn't want to hear palmon x screech at her.

since this was a game, in the digital world(literally, they were data), and those that lived around here were digimon, what happens if they touched it.

"renamon. touch the shrine." renamon nodded, leaped in the air and landed next to her tamer, reaching out with a paw to touch the shrine....

Sir Cuddles nodded eagerly, leering at Lupo as she moved back and proceed to inspect the shrine herself. "Yes, yes, exactly..."

Lupo's inspection of the shrine brought no better results than Sir Cuddles' but she came to the same conclusion as he did: what if a Digimon touched it instead? But Sir Cuddles knew Palmon X wouldn't be obeying a baseless command so he never got to test it out. Renamon was nothing like Palmon X. At once, she was gracefully in the air (because walking is overrated) then landing right next to her tamer, quick to obey Lupo's command.

"Such an obedient Digimon," Sir Cuddles commented. "Such beautiful fur too, fufufufu...."

Palmon X threw a pointed glare at Sir Cuddles' direction but said nothing. Despite his ire for coming here, he was giving in to the curiosity of the shrine and was watching Renamon touch the shrine expectantly. A few seconds of no apparent results, Palmon X spoke up again.

"How stupid! The shrine deems Renamon unworthy. Let me show you how it's done." Palmon X pompously threw his head back, flicking the pink petals out of his eyes. Without waiting for Renamon or Lupo to step back, Palmon X raised his arms and threw them forward. "Plant Shock!"

A myriad of leaves exploded from Palmon X's back, snaking around his arms and shooting forward like twisters at the shrine. The wall of the shrine, old and decrepit, cracked from the blast and eventually splintered in half. Only darkness could be seen within the shrine through the crack.

Sir Cuddles slapped his palm to his face. Someone didn't know shrines were sacred and, while it held secrets, it usually held curses as well.

Palmon X beamed at his work. "You deal with objects the same way you deal with enemies. You show them who's boss!"

Sir Cuddles didn't argue that statement. He didn't think that the shrine could actually be attacked and destroyed. Was something supposed to happen now?

He tried to get a closer look but as he did, the ground began to shake and something underwater was beginning to stir toward the surface.

From the tremors and quaking, it seemed to come right under their feet and standing around didn't feel very safe. But the wild digimon erupted from behind the shrine instead, causing the still water to shoot upward into a cone, dispelling in a brief shower as gravity claimed it back with force. The shaking of the ground ceased but a lion's roar had taken its place, breaking the very air of the swamp. The digimon's thick, white fur stood out in contrast to the streaks of mud across its massive body. On the center of its forehead was a great mithril horn cutting the view of the sky into two. A pair of walrus fangs hang on its gaping maw, where a cold, icy mist was exhaling out.

as the paw touched the derelict shrine, palm rubbed against both smooth and roughness, depending on where her paw touched next. tranquility washed over her, normally tensed frame visibly relaxed as if the shrine was eating away all her worries, all her doubts, everything, leaving Renamon calm inwardly along with outward: whereas before, her features were calm but her insides remained squirmy. as if she'd eaten live insect Digimon.

sometimes it could take longer than a few seconds, yet the other Digimon was too impatient. stone cracked, shattering beneath her paw as ice blue visionaries snapped open, twisting and turning into annoyance. "you've destroyed an ancient structure." all that calmness vanished in the instant it took for the shrine to crack in half. words didn't bother the Fox. who was more bothered by what had just happened rather than worthless words that poured from a plant who couldn't even be bothered walking through mud and goop to get here.

Ruki was also shocked and disgusted by the non-caring attitude towards ancient and powerful shrines. attacking one surely wouldn't do any good, and a familiar broil hit the pit of her stomach. "that was stupid and reckless." Ruki countered. she would not have had Renamon attack the shrine, even if the paw touch didn't work. there could have been another way to get the structure to expel its secrets. yet before she was able to utter another word, the ground beneath them began to shake, Ruki felt furry arms around her as Renamon protected her from whatever was coming.

huddled against Renamon, the yellow furred fox's back was towards the shrine, so neither tamer nor digimon saw the creature. spatters on water dropped on the pair, Ruki edged sideways to get a better look, unsteady on her feet as the shaking continued before eventually stopping. a roar expelled into the air and it was Renamon's turn to glance towards the new digimon. what else could it be? "this is what happens when you attack a shrine." Ruki spoke bluntly. she didn't want to battle, just a day off would be nice. "you better be able you hold your own." she nodded as Renamon leaped towards the massive digimon, yet she didn't attack yet. Palmon X should be first to attack since he didn't break the shrine. only fair, at least that was what Renamon thought. she was thinking more on protecting Ruki.

notes: eeek, didn't realize this had been posted in xD are all items/techs/evos purchased before the thread was made allowed? like, is renamon allowed to digivolve to kyuubimon even though that evo was bought after the thread creation date? xD just so i know for the next post (:
