Motorhead was on a mission tonight; it was time to train, then he'd be able to do his job a little better. "Yeesh, sorry kid, didn't think you'd be this slow!"

[/color] the eye-patch donning man sneered over his shoulder, giving Hawkmon a teasing wink. The bird fumed a little and crossed his arms over his feathered chest.

"I'm not sure why we're even out here this late. Don't you have to sleep or something?" Motorhead gave a light shrug and continued walking, much to Hawkmon's chagrin. "I've got nothin' better to do tonight, so we might as well get some training done, right?"[/color] His feathered companion sighed a little once more and adjusted the belt around his head.

Before he could get another word in, however, he bristled as a noise from their left came into earshot. "Something's coming," he hissed to inform his tamer, but it seemed Motorhead was already waiting for them. Lying in wait behind one of the windmills, an evil grin formed on his lips. "Time to scare the pants offa someone, aye?"[/color] he mouthed to Hawkmon, who merely rolled his eyes. Damn, he really got stuck with an idiot tamer.

Dyknight hadn't thought it would be possible for Keramon to find a hiding place on the Wind Prairie, but he had obviously been wrong as the vaguely humanoid insect looking digimon was nowhere in sight. Certainly, the child digimon was close, probably behind one of the windmills or some particularly thick, tall grass, but Dyknight didn't feel like finding out exactly where It was. The digimon would come out on Its own, probably giggling about someone It had startled. Until then Dyknight was content to walk around and enjoy the breeze, sure that Keramon would return to him the moment real trouble loomed.

The thought Keramon would be hurt before It could return had never crossed Dyknight's mind. Though childish, Keramon was intelligent and cautious enough to stay away from anyone or anything that was stronger. It had a curiosity that could out do any toddler or cat, but was happy to have it sated from afar, or by getting answers from Dyknight, rather than by actual experience. Or, perhaps, any more experience.

Dyknight couldn't help but chuckle at the memory of when Keramon had tried to fly. It had wanted to feel what flying was like, just once, and wouldn't take 'But you can't fly' as an answer. Instead, It had jumped from a fifteen foot high tree branch in Central Park, flapping its arms and legs, confident It would fly until the moment It had crashed, Its pride hurt worse than anything.

There had been other incidents like that, and soon Keramon had learned to listen to Dyknight the first time, and still develop spontaneous deafness the second Dyknight asked It to stay close.

Seeing Motorhead and Hawkmon about thirty feet away, Dyknight figured Keramon had chosen them to scare, and was sure to be popping out at any moment now. "Crazy little thing." Dyknight muttered, wondering if he'd have to bail Keramon out of a potential fight. Hopefully not, since trying to do so usually ended up kind of messy. Hopefully, the other player would just laugh off the incident, not itch for a fight to reclaim the pride Keramon had stolen, or some other similarly ridiculous notion.

Having waited as long as It could, Keramon bounded out from Its hiding place in the tall grass to Motorhead and Hawkmon's left, grinning and giggling like a fool until It managed to stammer out "Trick or Treat!" in a tone that might have been threatening if it hadn't been so filled with mirth. Still Its voice was loud, and Keramon didn't exactly look friendly. Hopefully, that would be enough to trick these two into giving It food. That's what Dyknight had said 'Trick or Treat' was supposed to do. That was hard to believe, especially since Dyknight had told it he had never gone Trick or Treating, he just had seen it done in another sector that he called America. Keramon wasn't sure what to believe, but, as always, it was curious to find out.

[/color] He and Hawkmon both shrieked and fell backwards as the sudden intrusion of a Keramon scared them both senseless. Motorhead, of course, immediately started guffawing, unable to stop the tears of mirth forming in his good eye. He clutched at his stomach to try and breathe, while Hawkmon sat down with his feathered arms crossed over his chest, looking to the side in disdain. "Cretans..." he muttered under his breath.

"Aw, c'mon, mate, he just wants some food!"[/color] Motorhead said with a grin before looking around. He certainly didn't look like a wild Digimon... "Got a tamer somewhere, kid? I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give you sweets after dinner."[/color] With that, Motorhead stood up and grinned at the frightening creature before looking over to see Dyknight nearby. "Oi, does this crazy eating machine belong to you?"[/color] he called, waving a hand over his head. Hawkmon stood as well and brushed himself off, giving a stern look to Keramon. "If I had a mind, I would show you what-for! Gracious. No manners in the digital world these days!"

"Oh, chill out."[/color]

The wind was blowing the wrong way for Dyknight to hear how Motorhead and Hawkmon reacted, but he could see that Motorhead didn't seem annoyed. In fact, he almost looked happy that he had been scared. The Hawkmon though, he looked less than pleased. That might mean trouble later, Keramon didn't know when to stop once It found someone to play with.

"Yeah, It's mine!" Dyknight called out as he started to jog toward the pair and his digimon. "Sorry about It scaring you, Keramon was curious to see if Trick or Treating worked. I'm afraid that's my fault, It's curious, wanted to know about every holiday in existence once. A few days from now It will probably be asking for me to write its Christmas list."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Keramon called out, perhaps in reply to Dyknight. His partner knew him well, and now Keramon was quite excited to wake up one day soon and find It had a new ability and some new snacks.

Coming to a stop next to his partner, Dyknight bowed his head and than offered his hand to both Motorhead and Hawkmon. "My curious partner here is Keramon, and I'm Dyknight. It's a pleasure to meet you both."

"The pleasure is all ours." Keramon said as It too bowed Its head and offered a hand to human and digimon, unaware that It had not got the proper greeting quite right.

"And?" Dyknight asked with a pointed glance toward the miffed Hawkmon.

"And I am sorry for scaring the Chickenhawkmon." Breaking out into giggles again, Keramon turned to Dyknight, who was not amused. So, pretending It had never seen the disapproving look, It turned to Motorhead for approval.

Seeing that Keramon wasn't ready to listen to him yet, Dyknight could only roll his eyes and mutter an apology to Hawkmon while hoping that, soon, Keramon would apologize Itself, like It was supposed to.

Mai pulled his sweater around himself a little tighter as it got colder. They had been walking here for a while and although Mai knew how to use the map now, it didn’t mean that travelling was easier; he was pretty much an idiot with navigation. They did map out a route for him to reach the inn but it seemed pretty far. Mai sighed. The darkness was setting in and he… he was starting to feel a little afraid. The windmills stood stoically, their spinning blades moving eerily in the wind. Thank god Hyokomon was here with him. The little chicken brought him so reassurance. “I think we will be reaching soon,” the Digimon said. He already had his sword out to protect us, just in case anything happens. He knew Mai was afraid; and tried to speak to him as much as possible to calm his nerves. Mai nodded, hoping that the inn would provide some comfort – some inns were even scarier than the surroundings. He lifted up the map again to check where they were. Suddenly, a shriek came from a distance. Mai stopped dead in his tracks, blood drained from his face. Something bad had happened; what should he do? Looking around furtively, he quickly asked Hyokomon, “Let’s hurry.” Hyokomon stared at Mai bluntly and said, “We should go see if that person is all right, shouldn’t we?” Mai bit his lip – that would be the right thing to do, but basing it on how weak they were… shouldn’t they go to the inn to call for help? Mai opened his mouth to argue that point but Hyokomon already started bouncing towards the direction of the scream, his voice sternly saying, “Every minute we waste, something else bad might happen.” Mai followed reluctantly, heart pounding as he tried to prepare himself for whatever that might happen. made by kiwii at btn & ote!

[/color] he teased as the Keramon's tamer came into view. He gave him a lopsided grin and a small snort, clearly not bothered in the slightest.

While Motorhead continued his delighted snickering, Hawkmon looked far less than pleased, glaring daggers at the Keramon with his wings crossed. "Your tamer should really teach you some manners," he remarked, which only made his own tamer give him a light smack on the back of the head. "Jesus, mate, didn't you ever get told to lighten up? What's done is done, you can't change it now, might as well laugh at it~!"[/color] He grinned at Keramon and its tamer, whose handle appeared to be Dyknight. "Pleased to meet you both, name's Harley. Motorhead in here, whichever you prefer. If you ever need help, just give me a call, aye? It's what I'm here for."[/color]

He turned his gaze back to Keramon and shook its spindly hand, seemingly pleased that it was still polite even if it didn't get the greeting quite right. "Aye, this stick-in-the-mud is Hawkmon."[/color] Hawkmon huffed, his feathers in a ruffle as soon as he was called a chicken. "Now, listen here, I'm no more of a chicken than you are a spider!" With a harrumph, he turned his gaze away from the pair before spotting something.

"Hey, Motorhead..." Motor looked down to where Hawkmon was suddenly pointing, and seeing a young kid rushing towards them with a Hyokomon, he got himself ready. "Looks like we've got company... and he's in a hurry. Mind helpin' me out here, mate?"[/color] he said, turning to his human companion. He wasn't sure if this would turn out good or bad, he'd need as much backup as possible. Even as a game mod, he wasn't very strong yet.

"'ey, what's the hurry, kid?"[/color] he then called.

With the kid and Hyokomon drawing closer every moment, Dyknight turned his attention to the pair, which in turn drew Keramon's attention.

"Stay close Keramon, they may fly."

Turning to Motorhad, Dyknight nodded his agreement. "I'll give what help I can, Keramon isn't strong, but It's fast and good at distractions. Hopefully though, neither of us will have to worry about fighting." Glancing in Mai's direction, Dyknight relaxed, looking as nonthreatening as possible in case the two coming toward them were scared and looking for help instead of a fight.

Knowing that Its partner only said 'they may fly' when he was serious about being listened to, Keramon heeded Dyknight's warning, staying in reach. It wasn't particularly worried about the newcomers, in Its experience, enemies didn't run in the direction of a bigger group because they wanted to fight.

"Keramon bets ChickenHawkmon has arachnophobia and is glad Keramon isn't a spider yet. If Keramon was a spider now, ChickenHawkmon would just be Chickenmon, or maybe just chicken." Giggling at what It meant to be innocent taunts, Kermaon spared a glance at Dyknight, knowing his partner might not think It was joking, which he didn't like. Keramon didn't exactly understand why, but he knew the reason was important to his human. Which was why he was glad hat Dyknight didn't seem to notice or care about what he just said.

He panted and panted, back bent downwards, hair in a mess; the Hyokomon had stopped, his sword raised protectively, staring at the people around. It was only when Mai lifted up his head, he found himself lost in a tense situation. Were these the players that made someone scream? Feeling it, he quickly lowered his eyes and whispered to Hyokomon to maybe sheathe his sword; these were players and they seemed ready to battle. As his partner slowly put away his sword, Mai tentatively scanned the other two. What? Immediately blushing when he saw the player called Motorhead. Mai didn't know what kind of name that was; but the avatar was beautiful. Hyokomon hissed at his partner, urging him to say something to defuse the situation. Mai coughed, scratched his head and still kept his eyes averted before saying, "Well, um, I heard a scream coming from here. Did... did it come from any of you?" He left out the part where he suspected they could be the culprits. Then there was that Digimon. The one which had long spindly legs and a smile that shocked -- Mai jumped when he caught sight of him. "Wha-- what is it?" Hyokomon bounced in between his partner and the Keramon, wings wide-stretched to create a barrier between the two. In the darkness, Keramon looked like a real demon. Even Hyokomon stared at the strange Digimon a little fearfully. He didn't expect going up against something like that. made by kiwii at btn & ote!

He seemed to have a frightened appearance, so he wouldn't really be too worried. He nodded to Hawkmon, who also seemed to relax his stance, though didn't let it go just yet. He wouldn't be caught off guard! "Aye, hopefully not. Hawkmon, relax, I think we're okay."

[/color] Really, if anything, Keramon could probably scare any potential threats away... unless, of course, someone was just looking for a friendly spar. Harley could easily go with that! He suddenly grinned, wondering if that was what they'd be getting into when the boy approached them.

The kid froze in place, staring directly at Harley, causing him to blink in confusion. He tilted his head to the side, his brow furrowing in a light frown. "Hey, kid, you all right?"[/color] Did his pod freeze up? Motorhead couldn't help but feel a little concerned about things like that... He turned to Dyknight, who didn't seem as on edge as he had been earlier. That was enough of a reason to relax for him, too, then.

The boy, whose handle read Mai, spoke suddenly. "What? Scre-- oh!"[/color] He let out an embarrassed chuckle, his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink as he scratched at his neck. "Sir Spindly and his sunglasses-donning friend over there gave me a bit of a scare, that's all. Nothin's wrong, kiddo, thanks for the concern though!"[/color] Aw, he was cute, Harley was half tempted to walk over and ruffle his hair a little.

Hawkmon, meanwhile, let out an angered huff at being called a chicken. "Why you uncouth little pile of digidata, I'm most certainly not a chicken!" He stamped his foot as if trying to make a point, but that really only made him look like a three year old. "Damn, Hawkmon, what got into you?"[/color] Motorhead chided with a grin, crossing his arms over his chest.

WhenMai and Hyokomon came closer, looking afraid and ready to fight, Dyknight worried that he was wrong, that these two were going to attack out of fear and misunderstanding. Tensing slightly, he had stepped in front of Keramon, mirroring Hyokomon's posture by spreading his arms out. Even after Motorhead spoke, Dyknight stayed in place, arms spread and his knees slightly bent, ready to take any attack Hyokomon or this player Mai threw at him.

"That's true. Keramon likes playing pranks. This one seemed to work a little too well. It's sorry about the scream, right Keramon?"

"Keramon is sorry for scaring others Keramon didn't know were here." It agreed with a bow of Its head. "Keramon will try and be more careful about who Keramon scared. And Keramon is sorry for making Hawkmon mad too.

"You're just saying that because you knew it was wrong to tease Hawkmon for so long and didn't want me mad at you. If you really plan on being sorry, it isn't because I would want you to be." With a shake of his head and a roll of his eyes, Dyknight focused back on Mai and Hyokomon. "Out of curiosity, what are you two doing here? I was here in hopes that Keramon would finally have no place to hide, and we could focus on what our next step in the game would be."

Seeing that his partner and the others were busy, Keramon focused Its attention on Hawkmon and Hyokomon. "You both can fly right?" It asked, excitement clear in Its voice. "Can you show Keramon how to fly? Keramon wants to fly, but It can't without wings. But you both have wings, so maybe Keramon can borrow them so It can fly, just once, please?" It asked, drawing out the last word into a whine as it looked hopefully from mon to mon.

Mai sighed in relief; and taking another glance at Motorhead, he realized what Hyokomon had said was right -- it was good that they came here when they did. Now, as the night set in, it was better that they could travel in a group. Wild Digimon were everywhere; you would never know when something might act up. He looked at the Keramon again; he was the one who scared Motorhead and his Hawkmon. Mai nodded, as if confirming the fact that Keramon did look rather... frightening. Hyokomon, hearing the other two Digimon squabbled, decided to squawk in, "I'm the chicken around here!" and laughed so hard that he fell backwards, tripping on his own feet. Mai crouched down to help his partner up and whispered, "Be careful, Hyokomon." His partner was still unsteady on his feet; how could he actually participate in a battle? "No worries. I'm glad you guys are fine," Mai then said, looking at Dyknight. A name like that... he probably have had a few battles already. Mai replied to his question, "Well, um, we were here to attempt to train again. So far, we've done more running than anything though." He looked apologetically at the Hyokomon, who just shrugged. "Hmm, what are you guys planning to do next then?" Hyokomon shook his head at Keramon's question. "I can't fly... at least, I don't think so. I can cut things though," he said excitedly, unsheathing his sword that glimmered in the darkness. While Hyokomon showed off, Mai turned to look at Motorhead shyly and asked, "What about you guys then? Why are you here?" Inside, he somehow felt a little eager to please. made by kiwii at btn & ote!

He found it strangely amusing whenever a digimon's partner would risk getting attacked himself in order to protect the one who was supposed to be doing the opposite. As he looked to Hawkmon, however, he did understand... this wasn't just a pile of data. They lived and spoke and had their very own personalities, just like people. Hawkmon saw the look on Motor's face and tilted his head curiously. Shaking his head lightly at Hawkmon, he turned his gaze to Keramon. "Hah, don't worry about it, mate. We just gotta teach you how to be less conspicuous!"

[/color] Oh, boy, he was just encouraging him at this point. Hawkmon merely rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "Hmph! Well, at least it has some semblance of manners, unlike you, Motorhead." Harley merely mimicked Hawkmon after his back was turned. "Myeh myeh myeh no manners myeh."[/color]

Oh, training? Motorhead looked to Mai with a tilt of his head. "No wild digimon out here from what I could see, anyway. Maybe we should all go hunting for some, aye?"[/color] he suggested with a large grin. "I wasn't doing anything productive before this anyway~"[/color]

"You never do anything productive ever."

"Oh, can it."[/color]

Hawkmon then looked at Keramon with a quizzical expression. Hyokomon couldn't fly, so it was probably up to him. "Well... I suppose if you hang on to my feet, I could lift you into the air." He blinked again, unsure of if this would work or if it'd turn into a giant disaster.

Seeingthatno harm was about to come to Keramon, who probably hadn't been in any real danger, scared player and digimon or not, Dyknight dropped his arms and relaxed his stance, a grin forming on his face as he heard what everyone was here for.

"Keramon and I could use some training, and if its wild digimon we're going after, a group would be easier. Keramon tends to scare off a lot of the digimon It might fight. That, or make them come running at us in groups. I guess no matter who or what you are Keramon has a rather...unique look."

With a small laugh, Dyknight glanced at his partner quickly before focusing back on Mai. "In case you haven't noticed, the name's Dyknight. And you are Mai, correct?" he asked, mostly rhetorically since he could plainly see this guy's username. Still, it didn't hurt asking as not everyone went by their apparent online handle. In fact, most people seemed to prefer a different name, especially those whose username's included numbers or were just plain long. "Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you Mai, and, once again, I'm sorry for worrying you. But, no harm done, right?"

Its eyes widening at what both Hyokomon and Hawkmon said, Keramon focused on Hyokomon first, tentaively reaching out to his sword when the little bird digimon wasn't swinging it.

"How could you not know for sure if you can fly? Keramon doesn't have wings and even It knows if It can't fly. Not by Itself anyway. And, Kerammon also knows It can cut things, so how come Hyokomon doesn't know both things? Is it really a baby penguin or a little ostrich? Keramon is told those are birds that can't fly. But apparently they can run really fast or swim. How about one of those? Keramon bets Hyokomon can run real good!"

Falling quiet for a few moments, Keramon suddenly spoke again, sounding just as excited as it had moments ago. "We can all have a race! Hyokomon can run fast and Hawkmon can carry Keramon in its clawss so Keramon can fly! If Hyokomon wins, he's the best and if Keramon wins, It's the best. Sound good?"

Mai nodded at the idea of challenging wild Digimon. That was what he had been trying to do; but now that it's dark... he would prefer that he had more people on his side. In this windy area, who knew what lurked? He heard about ghost Digimon; and so far, how scary Digimon could be was evidenced by the appearance of Keramon. At the same time, he listened to the banter between Motorhead and his partner; the dynamics were so different between him and Hyokomon. In fact, he thought they were extremely funny. He secretly gave a side-glance at the older man before turning to Dyknight to hear what he had to say. He smiled at Dyknight to show that things were all right and said, "Yup, Mai's fine. No harm's done. It just... it just takes a while to get used to." He looked at the Keramon again. Appearances weren't everything; but why would Dyknight choose a Digimon like that? He looked at his own partner, a yellow chicken that was still in his egg, holding out his sword for Keramon to touch and smiled. To each his own, he guessed. Hyokomon rubbed his little feathered chin. "Well, I guess I haven't really tried," he began to explain to the Keramon, "And chickens can't fly too! I'm still in my egg, you see," he pointed to the shell that encased the lower half of his body, "so I am still really young. Running is a no go too." He frowned, lifting up his feet to have a look at them. Mai patted the bird Digimon on the day. "Hyoko, like the onomatopoeia, Keramon? It kind of means his steps are kind of unstable. He's fallen down a few times already today, haven't you, Hyokomon?" Mai said, trying to ease any kind of pressure Hyokomon had to win. The little Digimon was very competitive; and although Mai hoped to get strong, Hyokomon wanted to become stronger. "Shall we move off and try to get an upper hand on any enemy Digimon around? So far I've been ambushed twice," Mai said and chuckled, "I would love to try being on the other side for a change." Hyokomon looked up at Mai in surprise; Mai had really come along way when meeting new people. Taking the lead, wow. The bird rubbed his partner's calf in support. made by kiwii at btn & ote!
