[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][classy=title]historically[/classy] | [classy=body]Parents met in a grocery store. Mom was the clerk who really just watched the clock all day and dad was in a relationship already falling apart. They had a one night stand that evolved into a thicker, hazy situation that left both of their minds a bit clouded. Built on such a foundation, it was only a matter of time before they too began falling apart, and the birth of their daughter Amaya proved the spark to the fuse. Immediately they disagreed on how to raise her, but kept it between themselves for the first couple of years. As she entered public school though and encountered other children - friends, perhaps - their insistence that no one be brought home became more of a stress relief response than a matter of preference. Gradually any kindness they held for her dissipated into the electric air between the two.
Amaya didn't think much of it. At school, her teachers were very friendly and complimented her on her work. She was an intelligent kid, well-behaved and quiet. The perfect elementary school student. The issue came when she entered junior high and began to notice the close friends other kids had developed, how their families all seemed to know each other - and that was the basis for being invited to things outside of school. Having been ostracized early on at the fault of her own parents, she couldn't think of a way to get in on the fun now; instead she devoted herself to her studies and became top of her class.
At the end of her last year in junior high, she was asked to take a test that would allow her into faster-paced and more difficult classes in upper secondary school. She agreed without much thought, but found herself the next year with kids she had never met before. Some of them weren't even from Japan, let alone her neighborhood. Furthermore all of the classmates she had known had moved away or gone to private institutions instead. Amaya tried to approach her parents about the lonliness sprouting in her chest, but neither of them had any lasting advice. They wound up just arguing about it anyway. So she turned to music.
High school has gone by as such. Her grades remain superb, but her social life is at such a dead-end that it's unlikely she will make it anywhere once she graduates. This realization came upon her early in her sophomore year, and, accepting her fate without complaint, a certain website in support of kids with poor home lives popped up in her name. After only a few months, she was exposed to the Digimon universe and has since made a point of going to the nearest public chamber room every chance she gets.
Of course, this means her grades have dropped - but she wasn't going anywhere anyway.[/classy] | | [classy=title]personally[/classy] | [classy=body]Truly one of the better sort of souls, sadly beaten back by a force of circumstance. Amaya has a powerful sense of justice, needing almost no time to determine what the right choice in any situation is. The issue comes in actually acting on it. In reality, she's a coward, too afraid of the world to make any sort of stand. That s said, witnessing any injust or unfair act makes her blood boil, her adrenaline rush, her body shake, her eyes bright. It is never reasonable to treat something else - living or not - without respect. Everything exists because of something else, and to mistreat anything is to mistreat everything involved.
Still, Amaya remains the silent vigilante, a nickname she gave herself in (somewhat spiteful) recognition of her flaw. While she's obviously compassionate and genuine at heart, there are too many wrongdoers in the world for her to take the pasifist approach. The Digimon universe is helping her explore herself as well as the many wrongs she may encounter in the real world, whenever she decides to go back to it full time.[/classy] | [/style] | [classy=title]virtually[/classy] | [classy=body]As in reality, VIGILANTE is a character of few words. She doesn't talk much and rarely displays much of a facial expression. Instead, she tries to focus on the secret purpose she has given herself here: developing a sense of confidence. Always serious, she hangs out on the edges of the populated areas, keeping an eye out for any trouble and, despite the shaking, intervening wherever she may. The anonymity of the internet is truly powerful - and she recognizes this. In spite of how often she has seen others get away with downright extortion, she refuses to succumb to such corruption. Crime is for stupid creatures, and she will never allow herself to be both a coward and stupid.
That said, even one with convictions like herself needs a break. Rather than be anywhere near the populated areas, though, VIGILANTE often takes to the more quiet zones with tranquil scenery and friendly Digimon. Often her breaks consist of simply chatting with Leormon and looking dreamily out at the so-real virtual world. The sense of peace she draws from it is something still new to her, and while she doesn't want to spoil the sensation, she finds herself doing it more and more often.
Around people she has deemed nonthreatening, VIGILANTE is the perfect companion to chatterboxes. With little to say and a lot to learn, she's prone to long periods of silence while she listens and digests the information. Fearful of saying anything stupid, she often chooses silence instead - silence and some sort of acknowledging gesture. To be ignored is the worst feeling in the world, well known to her. VIGILANTE wouldn't wish that on anyone.[/classy] | [style=width: 90px; height: 90px; margin-left: -4px; border: 3px solid #cfcfcf; background-image: url('http://www.iaza.com/work/121021C/iaza12720898689800.jpg'); opacity: .7;] |
