VIGILANTEseventeen | female | player | courage | amaya hoshigina The Character People.
No. Stupid creatures.
Her head bobs in a gentle rhythm, hands clasping the soft black to her head like a desperate lifeline. Tears rim her closed eyes, but don't fall. The mother does though. Of course she falls. Why wouldn't she, with the father always pushing her?
Pushing, pushing..
.. until one day it finally breaks.
Breaks like the hard liquor bottle he always has with him. Shatters into thousands of invisible pieces. Perfectly invisible. She can walk right between them to get what she needs from the kitchen, and they'll never notice. Not so much as a blink of acknowledgment.
School was a refuge once. Not so much now. All of the old friends moved away a long time ago. Now it's just the back of class, drifting by, invisible; outraged by how incredibly ignorant people are. Their mouths open wide all the time, always spitting out garbage at a pace faster than even her music could match.
Quitting was never an option. It never even occurred to her. That was the coward's way out, and she was no coward. Never would be. But she couldn't just leave, and crime was for people, for stupid creatures. Absolutely not for her. Instead, she took her laptop and set up a website for people - for humans - like her. The hit counter went up gradually, somehow keeping rhythm with the continued beat of her heart and the rise of her own self-esteem. Coincidence.
And yet, when someone on her website posted this new game they found that helped relieve the pain, she couldn't help but sign on. Away to the nearest public chamber room - and it quickly became a habit. A lifestyle. She could be anyone here. Even the person she wanted to be.
