The opaque hues that barely managed to shine through the window at the front most part of the room dawned idly around him. Lost in a contemplative thought that could've easily seemed as though he was actually doing the assignment that lied on the desk in front of him, unblemished by the chicken-scratch he calls handwriting. Doing his work was actually the furthermost thing from his mind currently. He had more entertaining thoughts to ponder as he steadily tapped the tip of his pencil onto the edge of his desk repeatedly.
Time was passing slower than usual. Kaito, no matter how hard he tried to think and do everything humanly possible, couldn't seem to make the hands of time (more like the clock on the wall in the front of the room, anyways) move faster. He felt trapped like a caged animal at the zoo; but his prison wasn't a cage, oh no, it was a Hell of a more lethal kind, a school house.
C'mon, c'mon! he screamed inwardly, the anticipation began to build as the hands on the clock drew closer and closer to last bell of the day. He was only minutes away from receiving what he longed for for months, but first the time of day that was unrivaled by any other - school dismissal - had to run its course.
!!
BRRIIIINNNNGGG--!!
Suddenly, in a burst of speed that most of his class would miss, Kaito jumped from desk and bolted towards the door, a teethy smile fixated across his grinning mug. Today was the day, when he got home, his mom was going to take him to the Moto's gaming shop to be one of the first to try out the DO chambers that had just been installed the night prior.
"Yahhoooo~" the top of his voice rung as he ran all the way home, cutting through the park like he usually did when taking his short cut that shaved four blocks of walking off of his usual eight blocks of walking.
His walk run home seemed an awful lot quick than normal. Maybe it was because he was excited about the months of fun ahead of him. Maybe it was the surplus of adrenaline that was pumping through his bloodstream. Or, maybe it was the three Redbull energy drinks him and his friend Kenta drank in class coming into play... who knows? Either way, the glorious look that dawned on his face as he burst through the door of his house expecting to see mom sitting in the living room, waiting for him like she said she would've done today.
His green orbs transformed into little beads. He solidified into a stone statue. The utter befuddlement of what was going on lead him to become immensely bewildered - he could barely contain himself.
"WHAT - THE - FUCK - IS GOIN' ON?!" He raged, like an angry madman he ran amok throughout the entirety of his living room. Grabbing his iPhone he yelled at Siri until she dialed his mother's number, all the while anger began to well up inside.

Click... "Hello," his mom said from the other end of the phone. "Hey Kaikaichan." "Where the hell are you--?!" He began to interrogate her banteringly, "You're suppose to be home to take me over to the Moto's shop so I can pl--"
"I'm going to take it you didn't read my letter on the coffee table, did you?" He mom asked rhetorically, knowing good and well that the letter she wrote had yet to be seen or read, for that matter. Looking around guiltily, Kaito said nothing. "I'll take that as a no then. My trip was extend again and I won't be home tonight so I won't be able to take you to Moto's shop as promised--"
"What...! But the game comes ou--" Kaito interjected immediately, cutting his mom off only to have her interrupt his on exclamation.
"I know I know, that Diggyman virtual reality game comes out and you want to play it. Just listen - I called Shigo-san, Ben-kun's grandfather, and he said that it would be okay if you stayed with them while I'm out of town since Ben-kun's out of town also. I just got off the phone with Shigo-san, he said he's almost to the house now. If you pack your stuff quick enough, you'll get to play your game sooner." As his mom's words concluded, a tear streamed down the side of his face. A lone river of joy that yet again brought happiness to his world. For the most part, Kaito was speechless. He couldn't decide how, or what, to say to his mom. "Have fun playing your game, honey. Love ya."
Sniffle
"Love you too, ma."
HOURS LATER
He had been online for hours, walking around aimlessly, in the middle of no where it seems, with no one around him except the small furry creature that called itself Gabumon. Thus far, Blue and Gabumon had gotten to know each other very well as they wandered around in the inner skirts of inn's surroundings searching for someone to interact with.
"Blue," Gabumon beckoned for Blue's attention, while at the same time wobbling, walking beside him. "Can you bring me some chocolate next time you visit me, you say it's the best thing ever. I want to try it."
His unkempt mop swayed as his bangs began to peak under the headband that held his hair together. Scratching the inside of his ear with his pinky, he shrugged.
"Digimon eat...? I thought this was a game..." he stated blatantly, voice trailing off in uncertainty.
"I don't know." His Gabumon answered casually, trying its best to keep pace with Blue.
"Ah, look there! That looks like the lake that I read about at the inn. C'mon Gabumon, let's go check it out. Maybe we'll see someone in there." Quickening his paste, Blue increased his pace into a jog and moved over to the lake.
Looking over at the lake for the first time since he started the game got to he saw his reflection. Whether it was instinctive or not, upon seeing himself he was surprised. He was half expecting not to see anything at all.
He knew what his avatar looked liked and all. Making his avatar was something akin to customizing a masterpiece, it to fit his liking precisely. He also managed to give the avatar many of his wonderful qualities, such as: his red hair, and his green eyes. It appears that the only thing really different was the length of his hair, the style of it, and the eye-patch he wore, and the overall disposition his person emits.
Gabumon, on the other hand, wandered around idly. Sniffing at the air he picked up a scent, he heard a noise, he saw someone in the distance heading towards him and Blue. Scurrying back over to Blue, he pointed him in the direction of the noises and figures he saw and they headed that way, curious as to what/who they would bump into.
