It used to be a nice quiet place with only a small handful of people bothering to hang around before they headed off to the East Sector or where ever else it was they went. Since digimon online became open to public however, more an more people arrived and lingered in the park. She supposed it was nice in a way. More people to interact with, more friends to make. It was hard not to miss the days where she could just sit under a tree and read without the constant buzz of players chattering away. Back then all she had to be concerned about was the odd wild digimon coming at her, but Sidney was always good at driving them away. "I think we have a decent amount of supplies..." Gwen muttered as she checked her bag. Gwendolyn had never really set foot beyond the central park. Getting back on her feet had been a long process, even with her Labramon and Yuffie supporting her. She then looked down at her partner nervously. "Do you think we are ready?" Sidney looked up at her partner warmly, and she nudged Gwendolyn affectionately. "Of course we are." She barked encouragingly. She could still see her partner was nervous though. It was understandable, there were stronger digimon out there and more experienced tamers to battle. "Don't worry Gwendolyn, you know I'll always be here to protect you." Gwen's face turned red with embarassment, but she knelt down and hugged her partner anyway. "Thanks Sidney, you're the best." She said. There was no need to be scared. She was going to get stronger, make more friends, and then they would have nothing to worry about! All there was to do was get moving.

"aah, that orange ice was great!"

her guilmon x rolled its eyes. "yes, it was."

the woman grinned, and lightly flicked her digital partner on the snout. of course it was great -- she wouldn't have accepted any other response other than that. talus was always an awkward little digimon in her eyes, never mind the fact that it had grown to the size of an ugly brute, covered in scars and scrapes from their latest battle.

"you should admit it if you like it. there's nothing wrong about saying you like something!" scheherazade chided, grinning as she flicked talus for a second time.

it clutched its snout, and snorted aloud. "listen to yourself speak, hera," it grumbled, but walked after its tamer all the same. it held the ice-cream cone in its hands gingerly, taking an absent-minded lick before hera suddenly stopped and glanced at a girl.

the brunette put on her best smile, and approached gwendolyn. "hi there!" she said, waving at the duo, "first-timers?" she wasn't a magami guide, but she could damn well do what she liked -- helping new players was one of them.

"yo," talus grunted, raising a claw in a halfhearted greeting.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,475,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] we're not just make believe Now, there were three ways to go, though if she remembered Yuffie's instructions well enough, Shell Beach only lead to a dock where submarimon could be summoned to take you to the South sector while there was an access to the circuit board to go to the North Sector as well as another submarimon dock which would take you west. Then there was the wire forest to the east, Yuffie had suggested that was the way to go. Both Gwen and Sidney turned their heads as another player and her digimon entered the park. The woman seemed happy about the ice cream they had. Scheherazade Gwendolyn stared at the player tag hovering over the woman's head for a moment as she worked out the pronunciation. It was quite a complex name, but there were a lot of people around with even more bizarre names. "hi there!" Gwendolyn blinked, then smiled and waved back. "Hello!" Gwen said as she took a couple strides forward to meet her. When asked about being first-timers, she nodded. "We've been hanging around Asuka City for a while, but we figure it's time to get a little more serious here." She responded. "Have you been here for a while? Your partner looks pretty strong." She commented as she looked over the Guilmon. Sidney's approach was somewhat more wary than Gwen's, but she remained neutral. She wasn't the kind to assume every friendly looking person was what they appeared to be. She also felt she had to make up for her partner's naivety by being careful for the both of them. "'Lo. You must enjoy your battles." She commented, smiling a bit and returning the Guilmon's wave with a swish of her tail. There was something about a scarred hide that made a digimon look quite tough. She didn't imagine the same could be said for fur though. A shredded coat would probably just make her look like a rabid animal.

"ah, i wouldn't say," she said, adjusting her pair of goggles. "we're not really strong yet. always a taller, larger mountain out there, so to speak," the woman mused, but the smile on her face soon returned. "talus just looks like that. most x-antibody digimon are mutated somewhat to differ from their original forms.

"a guilmon x is less playful than a normal guilmon."

as if to prove her point, scheherazade punched talus in the shoulder, and received a slap on the back in return. she winced, but managed to smile and tilt her head in gwendolyn and sidney's direction.

"see? point proven."
"you did not."

she laughed. "still did." the tamer glanced around, and extended a hand to the younger female.

"if you want to get a lil' more serious, join up. our level average will end up higher than normal players, and we'll encounter tougher digimon. it's better than bakumon after bakumon, right?"
