ESPIONAGEeighteen | male | player | any | akero rikuto The Characterdetermined & honest. decisive & focused. responsible & observant. realistic & resourceful.
dependent & grumpy. rebellious & hypocritical. proud & cowardly. impatient & stubborn. The constant clacking of the keys and clicking of the mouse was drowned out by the sound of techno blasting through the boy's headphones. Anyone who entered the room would hear it. The volume was too loud and, someday, the kid would surely go deaf. But the future wasn't the top priority right now. Espio had other much more important matters at hand. Like figuring out what he was getting into before he jumped right into this game.
Espio flipped through page after page of information. Everything anyone had posted on any forum anywhere. Lists of Digimon, techniques and evolutions. He read peoples opinions on which Digimon to pick and what evolutions they thought were the strongest. He read about the strengths and weaknesses of every Digimon he could be offered or end up encountering in the game. There were fan sites dedicated to this new game with eager members willing to discuss strategies with the rest of the world. All Espio had to do was click on every link on the search that came up when he looked up the words 'Digimon Online.' It was genius! He would go into the game having an advantage all thanks to these hundreds of losers, already in the game, who were telling him everything he needed to know.
"Rikuto, it's time for dinner!"
"Dammit, Mother, I need five more minutes!" Espio shouted at the door immediately with an annoyed grumble. He was busy and could not have his work interrupted. He should have been happy that the woman even made dinner for him at all and let him live in her house.
The boy was eighteen now and out of high school. He was old enough to go and find himself a college! But here Espio was, living in his mom's attic. She made him dinner, did his laundry, and even woke him up for his part time job at the comic shop every weekday morning. Espio should have been happy that she allowed him to depend on her so much. Unfortunately, the teen was too proud to admit that she did anything for him. Just imagine all the laughs he would get directed at him if they knew he still got babied by his mom. As if the bullying in high school wasn't bad enough. The fact that the boy always lashed out, got angry and cursed as a reaction to every little thing was a good enough reason for the bullies to choose him as his victim anyways. Thank God that high school was over.
"Did you hear me, Rikuto? Get your bum down here and put some meat on your skinny bones!"
"Mom!" the boy shouted back in frustration, tearing off his headphones and dropping them on his keyboard with a growl. He wasn't hungry. Rather, he was too lazy to walk down the stairs and eat. He'd rather play his video games, research cheats and walkthroughs, and get lost in his shelves upon shelves of manga. Still, Espio jumped out of his chair and stomped his way down those stairs. He was short and skinny enough for his mom to carry. He really hoped he'd keep growing. Maybe this game would let him be taller. Espio felt a little hopeful. Maybe more muscular too? He'd sign up tomorrow. He was growing giddy with excitement. There was little that made him happier than new and popular games.
